Q. When does my lease end?
A. The ending date of your lease depends on which building you are in. All apartments in your building have the same lease term. Leases either end Tuesday, May 13 or Sunday, June 8. Please refer to your lease agreement or contact the office for the exact date.

Q. How do I return my keys?
A. Any keys you were issued when you moved in should be brought to our office. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR KEYS IN YOUR APARTMENT. If you are leaving after regular office hours, there is a key drop box outside our office door with instructions. Please remember to return ALL keys including apartment entry, mailbox, and alarm (if applicable) or you will be charged appropriately.

Q. What condition does my apartment need to be in when I leave?
A. All we ask is that your apartment looks similar to the way it looked when you moved in. All belongings should be removed, the walls should be clean and free of holes & dents, damages. The carpets should be vacuumed and any excessive dirt should be removed by a professional carpet cleaning service. The kitchen, bathroom, and all appliances should be empty and thoroughly cleaned. We also offer a "damage assessment" where we will assess the condition of your apartment before you move out and discounted repairs can be made before the end of your lease.

Q. We want to have our apartment professionally cleaned. Who do you recommend?
A. The following contractors do a great job and come highly recommended:
Apartment Cleaning: Rent-A Maid (Mira) at 426-0237
Carpet Shampooing: Able Home and Office (Mike) 430-2253.

Q. How do I turn my utilities off and change my mailing address?
A. If your lease is ending, and you will not be returning to the same apartment next year, you should turn off all your utilities and fill out a change of address form at the post office or online at www.usps.com. The contacts are as follows:

Q. My current lease ends May 13/June 8, but my new lease doesn't start until June 1/July 1. Do I have to move out for those 3 weeks?
A. No. We will set a transfer date for you to move to your new apartment before your new lease starts. You should contact the office immediately for your transfer date. You must, however, have your current apartment ready for inspection the day after your lease ends, or it will be inspected "as is". If you have furniture/belongings that need to be moved, The Student Storage Co. (877-637-8673) has extensive experience with student moving and storage. We will be contacting all transferring tenants before the end of April to finalize moving plans.

Q. My lease ends May 13, but my new lease doesn't start until July 1st. What can I do?
A. Unfortunately, you will need to find alternate housing or storage for your furniture for this time period. There will be a new tenant moving into your current apartment on June 1, so we must get into the apartment as scheduled to perform an inspection and make any necessary repairs. If you absolutely need housing for the summer, it is possible for you to sublet the apartment from next year's tenants and/or take your new apartment in an "as-is" condition.
